Tech Days

February 5, 2005

The concept of tech days is that whoever wants brings their bike or project and we all pitch in to get the work done. This tech day, there were two major tasks: Patman's Triumph Daytona AHRMA racer needed the cylinder base gasket replaced and Alex needed an new rear sprocket for the '67 A65.

Everyone arrives for Tonup-NC's first Tech day

With tank and pipes removed...

...the day's star customer, Fiona, awaits a new cylinder base gasket...

...and a general inspection of her guttyworks.

Eric wastes no time and digs right in.

"Scalpe, Forceps, and get that cat out of here!"

Meanwhile, Alex's A65 waits to have her worn rear sprocket replaced

Rear wheel is removed easily thanks to the aid of Marcus's lift

Ya gotta haul 'em in style

Meanwhile, back at the racebike, the work continues

...and the cylinder head is off.

Now what?

The barrels and head are in superb condition

Finally, the offending cylinder base is exposed

...and they worked late into the night...

...keeping track of every bit.

Alex returns from the store liberating a can of shimstock of its contents

After a long day, the beasties settle in their stable.
