Pat McGraw (aka "Patman" or "Daddy") established the North Carolina chapter of Ton-Up Club in the fall of 2003. A longtime admirer of the Cafe' racer style and Rocker culture, finding riders with a similar mindset just seemed natural. And so Tonup NC was born. Although, it has been suggested that Pat simply has a weird penchant for leather. Now, nearly ten years on, the club is stronger than could have been imagined. Why one is drawn toward the Rocker / Cafe' culture is like trying to describe why one likes the color blue... It's just what appeals to us. That being said, it's been suggested that the Tonup boys just have an "unnatural affinity for obsolete technology." So be it... His current daily rider is a 1974 Triumph T100R Daytona 500. And it suits his home roads in the mountains of western North Carolina just fine. Pat started racing with the AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association) series in the fall of 2004 on his 1967-framed Triumph T100R Daytona 500. After a few years of learning HOW to race and getting comfortable with crashing, he finally started earning some podiums. Unfortunately he blew that motor up in the fall of 2010 on the back straight at Road Atlanta and is currently in a rebuilding phase. Cheers!
